मेंदूतील गाठ (ब्रेन ट्यूमर): सतत वाढणारी डोकेदुखी, फिट्स (झटके), उलट्या, दृष्टी किंवा बोलण्यात बदल ही मेंदूतील गाठीची लक्षणे असू शकतात. शस्त्रक्रिया व रेडिएशननंतर केमोथेरपी आमच्याकडे दिली जाते.
ब्रेन ट्यूमर: लगातार बढ़ता सिरदर्द, दौरे, उल्टी, देखने या बोलने में बदलाव ब्रेन ट्यूमर के लक्षण हो सकते हैं। सर्जरी और रेडिएशन के बाद कीमोथेरेपी हमारे यहां दी जाती है।
Brain tumours may start in the brain (such as glioma) or spread to the brain from cancers elsewhere, for example lung or breast cancer.
Warning signs
- New headache that keeps getting worse, especially in the morning
- Fits (seizures) for the first time as an adult
- Vomiting, blurred or double vision
- Weakness of one side, change in speech, behaviour or memory
Diagnosis
MRI of the brain, followed by surgery or biopsy. Molecular markers (IDH, MGMT, 1p/19q) guide treatment.
Treatment
Treatment is planned with the neurosurgeon and radiation oncologist: - Chemotherapy (for example temozolomide) with and after radiotherapy - Targeted therapy for selected tumours and for brain spread from lung or breast cancer - Control of seizures, brain swelling and other symptoms
