दुर्मिळ कर्करोग तज्ज्ञ मंडळ: सार्कोमा, न्यूरोएंडोक्राइन ट्यूमर, डेस्मॉइड यांसारखे दुर्मिळ कर्करोग फार कमी केंद्रांवर पाहिले जातात. अशा रुग्णांची माहिती राष्ट्रीय तज्ज्ञांसोबत चर्चा करून उपचार ठरवला जातो.
दुर्लभ ट्यूमर बोर्ड: सार्कोमा, न्यूरोएंडोक्राइन ट्यूमर, डेस्मॉइड जैसे दुर्लभ कैंसर बहुत कम केंद्रों पर देखे जाते हैं। ऐसे मरीज़ों का इलाज राष्ट्रीय विशेषज्ञों से चर्चा करके तय किया जाता है।
Rare cancers – each affecting very few people – are often misdiagnosed or treated without the benefit of experience. Examples include sarcomas, neuroendocrine tumours, GIST, desmoid tumours, germ cell tumours, thymic tumours, rare lymphomas and cancers in unusual sites.
What the rare tumour board does
- Expert review of pathology, sometimes with a second pathology opinion on the slides/blocks
- Review of imaging and molecular test results
- Discussion with specialists at national centres, including through virtual tumour boards
- Identification of suitable clinical trials or access programmes
